Sales Executive/Manager – London, UK

We are a new centrally-cleared trading venue for digital asset derivatives, authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

 You will be part of a dynamic and experienced team bringing the features of traditional derivative markets to the rapidly expanding digital asset arena.

In this role, you will help develop and drive key institutional relationships with direct and indirect GFO-X participants. This will include developing and growing relationships with the largest global Investment Banks, Hedge Funds, Asset managers, Proprietary Trading Groups and Family offices in the world to deliver growth in volumes and open interest to GFO-X. The role will require a hands-on, can-do attitude to sales and relationship management with key participants. Where appropriate, it will also involve overseas travel, conference attendance and client entertainment.

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Membership, based in London, the successful candidate must possess an entrepreneurial mindset and a keen interest in digital assets. Additional core requirements include a disciplined and diligent approach to sales and client relationship management,  a broad knowledge of derivatives products and, specifically, a deep understanding of the front-to-back trading and settlement of futures and options.

The scope of the role will involve liaison with various internal departments, including Compliance, Operations, Trade Surveillance, Finance and Risk, as well as interacting with external clients and vendors. The candidate will be an established member of the Sales & Membership team, managing and growing existing client relationships and developing an active pipeline of new prospects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with the Head of Sales and Membership and the GFO-X leadership team to grow relationships and connectivity.
  • Develop a list of Day 2 opportunities with assets managers, hedge funds and proprietary trading groups active in digital assets to grow GFO-X’s user base post-launch. This will involve extensive networking and marketing and will require close cooperation with the broader GFO-X team.
  • Contribute to the GFO-X marketing effort by developing content for the GFO-X Website. This will necessitate staying abreast of crypto market developments, participating in industry conferences and networking within the crypto native financial eco-system.
  • Develop understanding and manage relationships of a selected group of key market makers, general clearing members and/or high-frequency traders.
  • Continued dialogue/liaison/management with key vendors and internal stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a front office role at a financial firm, ideally at a Tier1 Investment Bank.
  • Degree holder with strong academic results.
  • Exposure to institutional grade exchange platforms – Eurex, CME, ICE etc.
  • Deep knowledge of financial products, including equities, commodities and derivatives, is essential.
  • A keen interest in Digital Assets is a must.
  • Good organisational skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience with tools such as Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills and fluent spoken and written English. Additional languages are a plus.

Monitoring and Surveillance Analyst/Associate – London, UK

We are recruiting a Monitoring and Surveillance Analyst/Associate to join our growing team. You will be part of a dynamic and experienced team bringing the features of traditional derivative markets to the rapidly expanding digital asset arena.

GFO-X will be a leader in the new era of regulated trading venues that trade 24/7.

The successful candidate would be someone who can prepare and conduct a compliance monitoring review based on the criteria provided by the Chief Compliance Officer. The role would also be deployed to assist in surveillance alerts investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up monitoring reviews
  • Request appropriate documents, including RCSAs
  • Prepare documents and conduct screening and review
  • Create a gap analysis
  • Identify and hand over to the relevant Subject Matter Experts possible other Compliance issues (AML, Conflict of interest, Bribery & Corruption, Outside interest, etc.)
  • Assist head of Surveillance in analysing market abuse alerts
  • Be responsive to queries about the investigations and related risk mitigation measures raised by Business and Support Units.
  • Disposition alerts for discount or escalation
  • Maintain the case management tool.
  • Produce monthly MI for management forums

Experience

  • University graduate in finance or related discipline is preferred but not a must
  • 3-4 years experience in a bank or exchange (including MTFs) in monitoring or surveillance, or internal audit role
  • Experience using data analytics and technology to provide assurance insights
  • Experience in independently assessing compliance within a broader compliance department is desirable
  • Deeply detailed oriented, with excellent follow-up capabilities
  • Very good interpersonal and organizational skills

Valuation Quantitative Analyst – London, UK

We are seeking a Valuation Quantitative Analyst to join our growing team.


You will be part of a dynamic and experienced team bringing the features of traditional derivative markets to the rapidly expanding cryptocurrency arena. GFO-X will be a leader in the new era of regulated trading venues that trade 24/7.


The successful candidate will be joining the Quantitative Strategy team in our London office and report to our Senior Quantitative Strategist based in Hong Kong.


Tasks and Responsibilities
• Oversee and contribute to the orderly end of day and intraday valuation of our instruments for our central clearing counterparty
o Monitor the quantitative computations leading to the results, and challenge the market input to the model.
o If necessary, provide manual adjustments to the valuation process in an auditable and reproducible way.
• Continuously refine the model through team-work research and development
o Analyse our own and external market data to extract the knowledge needed to refine pricing of liquid instruments
o Improve our interpolation routines to maintain a smooth and correct volatility surface
• Monitor the recording of market data from other exchanges and the computation of indices
• Contribute to research papers based on our market data and crypto-derivatives in general for internal and external stakeholders


Skills and Background
• 2 or 3 years of working experience in a futures and options valuation role
• Graduate degree with finance and quantitative subject
• Excellent communication skills to handle the smooth cooperation with IT teams, management, risk, compliance, the clearing counterparty and potentially the regulator
• Strong understanding of futures and options pricing, knowledge of curve fitting techniques and modelling, knowledge of VAR, expected shortfall and SPAN risk models

Ability to code in python or another scripting language and use it for data analysis and statistics
• Other quantitative skills (machine learning, low level programming languages, blockchain development) are a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure with strict time constraints on an asset class that trades 24/7, and to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment

In this role, you will help with the various team administrative related responsibilities across Sales, Operations, IT, Compliance & Risk needed in growing a new, regulated exchange.


Reporting directly to our Head of HR/Admin, the successful candidate must be highly organized and enjoy working within an environment that is mission-driven, fast-paced, results-oriented, and global in nature. Responsibilities
• Provide full administrative support in any capacity to the Team.
